Lutheran Education Australia (LEA)
Lutheran Education Australia (LEA) is committed to the mission and ministry of the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA) through supporting quality, Christ-centred education.
It operates on behalf of the LCA in partnership with early childhood centres (ECCs), schools and regions in pursuit of this vision.
As central to their mission and ministry, Lutheran schools seek to nurture individuals, who are aware of their humanity, open to the influence of the Holy Spirit, and growing in and living according to a cohesive worldview …. while living in community and reflecting characteristics of God through core values. Some of these values include love, justice, compassion, humility and hope.
ALWS works within LEA schools, educating staff and students about how these values come to fruition in the work that is done in developing countries
As part of this work, ALWS offers Awareness Days and curriculum resources for Lutheran schools, Teacher Study Tours for teachers to grow their understanding of development, and ways for students to take action to help others. You can find out more about what ALWS offers schools here.
