Ambassador Bootcamp – Adelaide, 6-7^th September 2023

In September we’re launching an exciting new initiative called ALWS Ambassador Bootcamp.

This unique professional development opportunity is for Lutheran educators from the LESNW region who are passionate about service learning and international justice.

Our hope is that this new initiative will support local Lutheran schools as they seek to create holistic learning experiences that grow the compassion, empathy and heart of students.

Over two days, participants will grow in their understanding of effective humanitarian aid and service learning, and they will be equipped with the skills and resources they need to support a culture of empathy and compassion in their school community.

Program highlights

• Hear the inspiring story of AFL player Aliir Aliir, who started life as a refugee from Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya and has gone on to play AFL at an elite level for the Sydney Swans and Port Adelaide Football Club 
• Hear stories from the humanitarian aid frontline
• Discover the heart of service learning and the value of good aid
• Challenge yourself to step outside of your comfort zone by completing the Adelaide Oval Roof Climb
• Share your ideas and passion for justice
• Develop a toolkit and action plan to create an impact in your student’s and community’s hearts
• Receive individualised support from ALWS upon returning to your school
• Access to a suite of ALWS resources that can inspire, equip and encourage students to explore their connection to social justice, human rights and development
• Gain 16 professional learning hours.
