Hope Spot 26 – Kangaroos, Crows and Kindness

Happiness and help

Do you have someone in your life who is kind to you?

I have a dear Cousin who last week gave my wife Julie and I her tickets to the Collingwood versus Crows game at Adelaide Oval.

She even gave me a Crows scarf. Which I put to appropriate use – by sitting on it! 😊

(I took this photo before the game started,
in case I had a different look afterwards.)

My Cousin gave up something she valued to make me happy.

This makes me think of people like you.

You offer something you value to help others. Yes, it can be a donation of money to help people through ALWS. It may also be your time, or your skills.

That’s exactly what Peter from Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and School at Aberfoyle Park in SA is doing. Peter’s leading the team preparing for the annual:

Our Saviour’s Walk My Way

Saturday 13 September

Happy Valley Reservoir

This is a beautiful walk with glistening water, towering gum-trees, mobs of kangaroos, flocks of birds, and the company of lovely friendly people, as you can see …

You can choose a length of Walk My Way that suits you best. It’s FREE to join, and there’s even a Sausage Sizzle afterwards!

Our Saviour’s combined church and school Walk My Way aims to raise $10,000 to help children through ALWS. It’s one of more than a dozen Walks organised by kind and passionate people across Australia this year.

All those people stepping out to help children step up is a wonderful example to the world of the power of kindness to make life better for those who receive our help.

This is what you do too. It’s why you are a blessing ALWayS. Thank you!

PS: Sadly, my Cousin didn’t arrange a Collingwood win for me (I don’t think she tried very hard!) … but her kindness made me smile anyway. Go Pies!
