Riverbed Farming

A farm in a river

In Nepal, after the monsoons, there is a dry season. It runs from November to May, and many riverbeds lie dry and unused for a whole 7 months ...

... until you show landless and land-poor people how to use the riverbed for farming!

Your Gift of Grace can provide a complete Riverbed Farming Pack, including:

  • training in this type of farming
  • micro-nutrition and fertiliser
  • seeds – cucumbers, pumpkins, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, watermelon
  • irrigation facilities – electric motor, pipes.

Farmers grow enough vegetables to feed their families, and sell the rest for profit. They usually farm off-season produce, so they can make a high profit on their in-demand crops.
