Emergency Stove

What's cooking?

After a natural disaster like flood, tsunami or earthquake, an early critical need is for a way to cook food.

Your Gift of Grace can provide an Emergency Stove for a village in Indonesia, so after a disaster, water can be boiled for safety and rice can be steamed for a basic meal.

Your Emergency Stove is part of a program that trains communities in dangerous areas to prepare for disasters so they can stay safe, and recover quickly.

A victim of the 2010 tsunami, now trained in disaster-preparedness, says after a recent disaster:

‘If we didn’t understand about disaster risk reduction there would have been many victims in our village, but we had no victims!’
