“I just stood there, watching the flood take everything we had. I couldn’t do anything but watch.

The children ask when we can go back home. That question breaks my heart every time. I want to answer them, but right now I can’t.

We’re still waiting and hoping. One day we’ll have a place to call our own again.”

Case Study: Maan Bdr. Tamang

“We can’t keep living on the edge.

Each time the rain starts, I fear what will come next. I worry for my parents and granddaughter.

Our water supply was destroyed. Water is something we all need every day. Without it, everything is harder. I just want to see it fixed, so my family can live in peace.

Because of my disability, I can barely walk on these roads. I feel so helpless – like I’m trapped, with nowhere safe to go.

I’m hoping someone hears us. We just want to feel safe in our own home again.”
